Narendra Modi was born in a small town in Mehsana district of Gujarat state. When he was born, it was in Bombay but now it is located in Gujarat. Starting Political Career of Narendra Modi’s

After his college studies, Modi joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and went to Ahmedabad to join the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist political party, as a fulltime campaigner.

The National Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was banned by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi during the Emergency in 1975–77. Due to which Modi ji was forced to go underground at that time and used to travel in disguise to avoid arrest.

Modi was very active against the then government’s opposition to the Emergency. At that time, he used a variety of tactics to oppose the government, including the distribution of pamphlets. This revealed his managerial, organizational and leadership style.

After this Narendra Modi joined politics as an activist. He was assigned the task of writing in the RSS.

In the year 1985, through the RSS, Modi ji thought about joining the Bharatiya Janata Party i.e. the BJP party. In 1987, Narendra Modi fully joined the BJP, and for the first time he helped organize the BJP’s campaign in the Ahmedabad municipal elections, in which the BJP won.

POLITICAL CAREER OF NARENDRA MODI JI

After Narendra Modi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 1987, he emerged as a popular leader in the party in a short span of time, and soon rose to the top position of the party, as he was a very intelligent man. . He encouraged privatization of businesses, he embodied small government and Hindu values. In the same year, he was elected as the General Secretary of the Gujarat branch of the party, given his style of functioning.

After his brilliant support in conducting the Ayodhya Rath Yatra with LK Advani in 1990, Modi’s abilities within the party were recognized, becoming his first national-level successful political act.

Murali Manohar Joshi’s Ekta Yatra took place in 1991–92. After the 1990 Gujarat assembly elections, Modi played a major role in greatly strengthening the BJP’s presence in Gujarat.

The party won 121 seats in the 1995 Gujarat assembly elections, making the BJP government in Gujarat for the first time. The party remained in power for some time, which was not in the government of the Bharatiya Janata Party in September 1996.

In 1995, Modi ji was elected the BJP’s national secretary to handle political activities in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and shifted to Delhi to assume new responsibilities in the party.

In 1998, when the internal leadership dispute was going on in the BJP, Modi successfully helped in resolving the internal disputes. At that time Modi ji paved the way for the BJP’s election victory,

Later this year, Modi ji was appointed as the National General Secretary of the party. He was appointed to this national general secretary’s post until 2001. And he was given the responsibility to make the party a strong organization in all the states and Modi was entrusted with the responsibility of successfully bringing the party organization back to different states.

As a Chief Minister of Gujarat (7 October 2001 to 22 December 2002 )

In 2001, Narendra Modi contested the Gujarat Legislative Assembly for the first time, and won one of the 2 seats in Rajkot. After which he was made the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Actually at that time, the health of Gujarat BJP’s elder leader Keshubhai Patel had deteriorated. After which the national leadership of the BJP was handed over the command of Gujarat to Modi ji by the hand of Keshubhai Patel. And he was given the charge as the new Chief Minister of Gujarat and on the other hand BJP also lost some assembly seats in the by-election. Due to which Modiji was given the command of Gujarat.

Modiji was sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Gujarat on 7 October 2001. Since then, he has won continuously in the Gujarat assembly of the party.

He first won the by-election for Const II constituency in Rajkot on 24 February 2002. He defeated Ashwin Mehta of Congress by 14,728 votes.

In the 2002 Gujarat riots (2002 Gujarat riots) Modi ji got a ‘clean chit’.

Three days after Narendra Modi won the by-election, a major incident of communal violence took place in Gujarat, killing 58 people who were kar sevaks, because at that time, hundreds of people set fire to the train near Godhra, mostly Hindu travelers were traveling. People believed that this incident was a conspiracy of Muslims, people had come on the streets against this incident. Due to which it spread all over Gujarat. And communal riots started in Gujarat. About 1000 to 2,500 people lost their lives in this riot. The dead included all religious people.

During that time there was Modi ji’s government in the state of Gujarat, due to which he was accused of spreading this communal riot. Due to the allegations made on Modi ji, pressure had increased from all fours, due to which he had to resign from his Chief Minister’s post. So Modiji’s tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat at that time was only a few months. Then the Supreme Court formed a team connected to it in 2009, which was formed to investigate the case of these Gujarat riots. The name of this team was SIT. After a thorough investigation, this team submitted a report in the Supreme Court in 2010, in which Modi ji was acquitted in this case.

Second time as Chief Minister(22 December 2002 TO 22 December 2007)

When Modi ji got a clean chit from the court regarding the Gujarat riots, he was again sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. After Modi ji again became the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he started doing tremendous work for the development of the state. This brought a lot of changes in the state. Chief Minister Modi built large scale IT Park and Financial Park in Gujarat state. In 2007, Modi ji organized the Vibrant Gujarat summit in Gujarat in which he signed real estate investment deals worth Rs.6,600 billion as investments in Gujarat. After this, in July this year, Narendra Modi had completed 2,063 consecutive days as the Chief Minister, due to which he took the record of holding the post of Chief Minister of Gujarat for the longest time.

Third time as chief minister(23 December 2007 TO 20 December 2012)

Modi ji’s winning record in the 2007 Gujarat assembly elections continued even further.Modiji again won in a brilliant manner and he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the third time. During this tenure, Modiji paid more attention to economic development in the state, and also to privatization. So that the pace of economic growth of the state could be maintained. He implemented his policies as a global manufacturing presenter to shape India, issuing all government permits under one roof to traders and manufacturing companies.. After Modi became the Chief Minister, there was a huge increase in agricultural growth in Gujarat. Its growth was so high that it became a much more developing state than other states in India. Modi ji made a tremendous system of power supply in rural areas, which helped to increase the agricultural sector. Between 2011 and 2012, Modi launched the Sadbhavana / Sadbhavna Mission in Gujarat. Which was started by the BJP government to gain the trust of the Muslim community in the state. Fourth time as chief minister(20 December 2012 TO 22 May 2014)

Modi ji’s term of Chief Minister ended for the third time in 2012. And again this year assembly elections were held in Gujarat. And like every year, this time also Modi ji won a resounding victory and took oath as Chief Minister of Gujarat for the fourth time.

Under Modi’s leadership, the state made tremendous economic progress. Modi was credited with bringing prosperity and development to the state. During that time, as the head of the Government of Gujarat, Modi ji established Gujarat’s identity in the world. And as an able ruler, Modiji also made his identity in India and the world. He is also credited to Modiji for the rapid development of the economy of the state of Gujarat. Apart from this, Modi ji was also kept in the forefront due to his and his party’s consistent success in electoral performance, because he was not only the most talented leader of the party, but people also gave him tremendous recognition as a developing leader. He had all the qualifications to become the Prime Minister, later he was selected as the Prime Ministerial candidate. But some people believed that the state has not done a very good job in the development, education, nutrition and poverty alleviation of the people.. A year after becoming the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the fourth time, he was made the Prime Ministerial candidate from the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections of 2014. Due to which Modi ji had to resign from the post of Chief Minister of Gujarat. After becoming Prime Ministerial candidate, there were also voices of mild opposition in the party. However, some people in the party were in favor of Lal Krishna Advani. Later, with the consent of all, he chose Modiji’s name as the prime ministerial candidate. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Modi ji contested from both Varanasi and Vadodara seats and won both seats.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Modi ji held around 437 election rallies across the country, in these rallies Modi put many issues in front of the public and also told his vision to the public due to which people were influenced by Modiji and voted for BJP. Then the BJP won a historic victory in the 2014 general election. In this election, BJP won 282 seats out of 534 on the basis of absolute majority. And thus Narendra Modi won a resounding victory and became a new face as the Prime Minister of India.

After winning the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi was sworn in as Prime Minister on 26 May 2014 and thus he was appointed the 14th Prime Minister of the country. After Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, people started expecting a lot from him. As Prime Minister, Modi did many spectacular development works in India. He greatly encouraged foreign investment. He invited foreign businesses to invest in India. Modi ji greatly simplified various rules, permits and inspections, so that business could grow more and easily.
